36 Views of Fuji

36 Views of Fuji

This series was made between 1823 & 1829 by Master Hokusai, with a total of 46 prints. The series have a vast variety of themes all depicting Mount Fuji, in some dominates the scene, in others is omni present in the back ground, reflecting Mount Fuji’s indelible mark in the Japanese psyche.

Noticeably the color scheme is simple and consists of blue, green, brown and yellow. Delivering an effective and attractive print. The colours are combined differently in different copies making the series more diverse, if the same scene in the copies have different colour combinations does not mean one or the other are not original.
